General description:............................(Back to top)

  • This hotel was formerly known as Waikiki Joy hotel until 2014 that was renamed Oasis.
Nested in the middle of Waikiki, this boutique hotel features 10 floors and a little over 90 rooms. It was originally built in 1960 but by the early nineties had undergone an improvement that increased it's star rating from 2 to 3 star, unfortunately not much has been done to the property afterwards and has gone back to it's original 2 star rating. The common areas are small but that is to expect from a boutique hotel, it has a small pool and a quiet lobby with a small front desk.
This hotel is number "34" within the red zone of our waikiki map, click here to see it's location in relation to other hotels in Waikiki.

What we like about this hotel:............................(Back to top)

  • Very central location, only a few minutes away from the ocean and the International Market Place.
  • Many of the units have deep soaking bathtubs and only a hand full of rooms in Waikiki offer the same. They are not very big, like regular size tub but deep and this hotel is one of the few that offer them in Waikiki.
  • Valet parking is included with your daily parking fee.

What you may not like about this hotel:............................(Back to top)

  • This hotel has a mandatory extra daily "Resort fee", that is not included in your room total until you check out. These fees, also known as "hospitality fee" or "amenities fee", are being charged in several area hotels and range from $10 to $40 extra per day.
  • Lewers street is not as wide as the avenues and it may seem a little darker at night, but there are no specific security concerns related to this area, it just has less foot traffic, just remember that less foot traffic in Waikiki does not mean deserted, you will still have people going by, just not as busy as Kalakaua or Kuhio.
  • The pool is definitely small, you may want to reconsider your choice if you have kids that you know that the first thing they will ask is "where is the pool?".
  • Based on your particular needs and the objective of your trip, this hotel may have other pros and cons that you should consider, call us at (808) 394-2112 for more information.051211
