• Part of the new so called "Beach-walk" project developed by the Outrigger Corporation, the Embassy Suites is a large complex that takes the place of several well known hotels that were part of the Waikiki Landscape for decades such as the OHANA Coral Seas, OHANA Waikiki Tower, OHANA Edgewater, OHANA Waikiki Village, as a matter of fact, the building structures that were part of the former Waikiki Tower and former Waikiki Village, both built with the same plans in the 60's, form the basic skeletons of the today's Embassy Suites, be forewarned however that other than the shape and the basic layout, the current hotels have nothing in common with the old ones.

• This project has injected a badly needed new life into an area of Waikiki that used to look old and neglected, now these new hotels along with the recently reopened Fairfield Hawaii also on Lewers, the soon to be finished Trump tower (number 22 in our map) and new shops and restaurants have transformed this area for years to come.

• The Trump tower is scheduled to be finished in 2009, until then, the construction site may be too close for comfort, especially considering the kind of rates that these suites command.
• The Outrigger Reef is also undergoing a major renovation that should extend for the best part of 2008.
• If you chose this property because you wanted to use the closest beach you may feel disappointed because this part of the beach is very narrow.
